577 Permanent UID Enrolment Centers Established in Maharashtra


Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Thursday, November 14, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- Govt. of Maharashtra has partnered with CSC SPV to setup 2000 permanent enrolment center in Maharashtra. As part of this initiative, UID enrolments kits have been procured by the State Govt. CSC SPV has successfully established 577 permanent enrolment across Maharashtra at CSC Centers, making it highest in the country where permanent enrolment centers have been established. Such initiative has substantial enrolments have been covered since these permanent enrolment center have been established. Citizens can update their demographic details like name, address, mobile number or do new enrolments if they have not registered for Aadhaar so far. This unique initiative has accelerated the pace of UID enrolments in State as well as State is able to cater to the needs of the citizens for updating their details on Aadhaar.

State has aimed to provide the employment and empowerment to the Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLE) with additional source of income and also support social cause of enrolling the beneficiaries.

One such example set by Abdul who is one of the most successful VLEs from Gadchiroli District, who mainly provides G2C and B2C Services. He has started "Permanent Enrolment Centre" at his Maha-e-Sewa Kendra from June 2013 and has done 10,200 Enrolment till date. He is able to generate additional income due to this and has successfully established his identity among the fellow citizens and has emerged as a role model for other VLEs, inspiring them for better achievement.

Govt. of Maharashtra has enabled the Village level entrepreneurs (VLE) to establish themselves as Business Correspondents and facilitate the Financial Inclusion program in the State. Through these VLEs, citizens have opened bank accounts and operate their bank accounts carrying financial transactions like depositing and withdrawing money conveniently. Beneficiaries of various government schemes also get the benefits directly through their bank accounts. Each VLE is able to make Rs.2000 to Rs.2500 on monthly basis for providing the services as Business Correspondents.

Nandkishore Motiram Ramteke, a 37 year old VLE from Kampetee village of Nagpur division is providing diversified services through his CSC namely kiosk banking, Mahaonline, B2C services through apna.csc portal. Through kiosk banking, Nandkishor has opened 2,100 no frill accounts in his assigned villages. He has done transaction amounting to Rs. 21 lacs and has earned a commission of Rs. 80,000 in a short duration of 11 months. He is also providing Mahaonline services and earning an average commission of Rs. 10,000 - Rs.15, 000 per month. He has performed exceedingly well in providing banking services to the citizens.

Another young VLE, Hemant whose success as a VLE is noticeable for his banking services offered through CSC. He convinced the people from villages assigned to him to avail this service through him and feels proud for providing support to them. He facilitated over 500 account holders of his villages who have their accounts in Bank of Maharashtra to do transactions through his centre. He has been providing various G2C and B2C services at his CSC. He has also put up camps, organised by various district level authorities and even help in delivery of various certificates to the doorstep of the citizens, thereby enabling to reach the State and sending message of "administration at your doorstep".
