Nominate your company, Last date for entry 30th June 2013
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Tuesday, June 04, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- Frost & Sullivan is proud to announce its 5th Annual India Healthcare Excellence Awards 2013 to be held on September 27, 2013, in Mumbai. This coveted Awards platform evaluates companies on their outstanding performance in the healthcare and life sciences sector. It recognizes companies that have demonstrated best practices in a variety of regional and global markets. The past four years have witnessed major hospitals and companies like 3M Healthcare, Abbott, Apollo Hospitals, B. Braun, Bharat Serums, Dr. Batra's Positive Health Clinic, GE Healthcare, Getinge, Glaxo Smithkline Pharmaceuticals, Global Hospitals, Narayana Hrudayalaya, Novo Nordisk, Philips Healthcare, Roche Diagnostics, Siemens Healthcare, Siro Clinpharm, and Sun Pharmaceutical, among others becoming a part of this burgeoning fraternity of excellence.
Frost & Sullivan's Annual India Healthcare Excellence Awards program has become an industry benchmark that recognizes companies for their superior planning, leadership, strategy, growth, innovation, integration, marketing, and financial performance. A host of other crucial factors such as strategic alliances, distribution strategies, execution of product launches, technological innovations, customer service, and mergers and acquisitions are also considered as part of the Awards methodology.
The Indian healthcare industry is undergoing a metamorphosis with growing demand for quality and proficient healthcare facilities. For four consecutive years since 2009, Frost & Sullivan has been successful in recognizing and applauding the success of organizations and individuals for their contributions to the healthcare industry across a wide variety of sectors. Sandeep Sinha, Director, Healthcare Practice, Frost & Sullivan said, "We are extremely delighted with the great response, encouragement, and support from thought leaders and industry veterans. These Awards have a wider context in terms of our recipients touching upon one of the basic aspects of human well-being, that is 'health', and also working toward making India a healthier and productive nation through their products and services."
The Indian healthcare industry was valued at US $79 billion in 2012 and is expected to reach US $160 billion by 2017. While the Indian healthcare sector is poised for growth at about 15 percent YoY, it is still plagued by several challenges. The country's existing healthcare infrastructure is unplanned and irregularly distributed. Majority of health services are centered in urban areas where only 22 to 25 percent of the population resides. India's healthcare model ranks very low on certain vital parameters, namely health expenditure as percentage of the gross domestic product (GDP), per capita spending on healthcare, doctor and hospital bed population ratios, and infant and maternal mortality ratio. Despite these challenges, what makes this sector's growth inevitable are the concurrent efforts in infrastructure development; creation of demand for higher levels of healthcare, rising awareness of end users, coupled with the aggressive launch of innovative insurance, reimbursement, and financing policies to complete the circle of the end user, payer, and provider value chain. The 300-million strong middle-class population in India with considerable disposable income is growing rapidly and is likely to demand superior healthcare services.
The 2013 edition of Frost & Sullivan's 5th Annual India Healthcare Excellence Awards will witness eminent names compete for the most coveted titles in the Indian healthcare industry. The Awards procedure involves an esteemed panel of judges, who follow a rigorous methodology in shortlisting and thereafter selecting the organizations that are transforming the Indian healthcare industry.
Over the years, Frost & Sullivan Annual India Healthcare Excellence Awards banquet has also proudly hosted industry veterans like Dr. Pratap C. Reddy - Apollo Hospitals, Dr. Naresh Trehan - Medanta Medicity, Dr. Somaraju - Care Hospitals, Dr. Habil Khorakiwala - Wockhardt Group, Dr. K Ravindranath - Global Hospitals, Dr. Ajai Kumar - HCG, Dr. Mukesh Batra - Dr. Batra Homeopathy Clinics, Dr. S.K. Chaudhry - SRL, Ms. Ameera Patel - Metropolis, and others.
