Frost & Sullivan Hosts the 11th Annual India ICT Awards 2013 - Innovative Technology in Enterprise Infrastructure and Increasing Mobility Paving Way for Growth in the Indian ICT Sector
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Friday, May 17, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- Frost & Sullivan hosted the 11th edition of its India Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Awards banquet, held at the Le Meridien in New Delhi on May 16th , 2013. The banquet witnessed the presence of the who's who in the ICT sector and deserving companies were felicitated for their outstanding performance, and innovation in technology, product development, and services.
The Awards covered Enterprise Infrastructure, Enterprise IT Services, Enterprise Telecom Services, and Mobile and Wireless categories. The assessments brought forth latest trends in the ICT sector that included shift in focus of enterprises toward technology convergence to enhance business processes and increased mobility. Enterprises are gradually opting for shared infrastructure and showing increasing preference for operational expenditure (OPEX)-based models to further their growth. This is leading to increased adoption of cloud-based services in India, particularly with the advent of virtualization and an explosion in mobile traffic. The cloud market in India is growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 50 percent. Vendors are strategizing to effectively focus on small and medium businesses with product and service innovation, customer focus, and robust business models.
Mobility is another area that witnessed plenty of action in the last few years in India, with increased adoption of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) across enterprises. Even though benefits of BYOD range from increased workforce productivity to cost savings, enterprises are still hesitant about embracing it due to issues of data leakage and other security reasons. With increasing number of mobility applications being developed and deployed across different verticals, mobility ecosystem participants are working toward developing impregnable solutions to facilitate enterprises to confront this tide of mobility applications without any hiccups. With mobile devices becoming ubiquitous and applications flooding the market, mobile device management is now gaining tremendous attention.
On the occasion, Benoy CS, Director, ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan, said, "Despite the challenging economic climate in 2012, the award recipients demonstrated great success with customer focused strategies. A focus on innovative business models to adapt to changing customer requirements, strategies for new revenue streams through product innovation and service bundling and increased focus on market segmentation in mature sectors have been some of the common themes across this year's award recipients."
The Award contenders were judged based on a variety of parameters like revenue, market share, product introduction, innovation and diversity, vertical and horizontal diversity, business and market strategy. The results were collated after conducting detailed research and assessment on market performance of companies, including in-depth primary interviews of various industry participants and secondary research conducted by Frost & Sullivan analysts. An elite and independent panel of judges comprising some of the most prominent CXOs from the IT industry and media, deliberated on the findings of the analyst teams and finalized the winners.
