Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sumit Goyal, Editor in Chief , Food and Nightlife Magazine said, "The Idea was to move beyond the typical limitations of an individual chef led culinary challenge, as behind every delightful dish lies the hard work of an entire team that works seamlessly to delight the guests with its creation- every time. We wanted to remove the cloak of invisibility of these teams and highlight the passion and hard work that is responsible for satisfying every foodie that comes knocking on their door."
Chef Manish Mehrotra, Executive Chef, Indian Accent: "I am really happy to see that food and nightlife magazine has taken an initiative to arrange a culinary challenge like "The Great Taste War 2013". These competitions motivate the chefs around the city and I am glad to see the kind of response The Great Taste War has got. With the kind of diversified jury panel an unbiased decision is made. It was my honour to be on the jury panel and my best wishes are always there for your future endeavours."
Mrs Geeta Bector, Chief Taste Officer, Cremica: "It was a first of its kind competition that the industry has witnessed in India. I think as a chef you are trained and expected to work in a particular fashion but nothing works better than competing with other chefs on the same platform and friendly peer pressure. The best part for the jury was that the competition drew a healthy mix of participation and the chefs worked really hard to win the title. Cremica as a brand offer food solutions and work closely with the chef fraternity, for us it was a wonderful experience to see the Chefs and their teams improvise new and innovative dishes using Cremica products."
Rocky Mohan, Executive Director, Mohan Meakin : "Food and Nightlife Magazine showed the way to make very talented Chef's excel at their art of culinary excellence. The Great Taste War a first of its kind is a winner format and I am sure will continue to gain strength year after year. The jury had the right mix of food people and the judging was deliberate and transparent. All the best for this wonderful initiative."
Matthias Milkereit, Nestlé Professional: "It was a fantastic show and we really enjoyed it! I had not only the pleasure to taste and see so much of great food but also to witness an enormous level of passion and fun within the competing chef teams! It was also great to see how inventive the teams in the innovation competition round incorporated some of our Nestlé Professional base products. The Great Taste War 2013 also gave us an excellent forum to connect with the chef community."
Alok Shivpuri, Principal, IHM Pusa, Delhi: "This competition provided a great opportunity to the students and faculty to interact with the leading chefs and to see their culinary expertise. I wish to congratulate all the winners. It will be our pleasure to have this relationship in future also."
