"Uflex-Stairs Cricket Scholarship" Camp Held
Six (6) children selected

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Monday, December 03, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- First edition of "Uflex - Stairs Cricket Scholarship" 2012-13 concluded on December 2, 2012 with the selection of six budding cricketers, held at Baba Haridas Sports complex. These players were selected out of five rounds of an all inclusive test of various cricketing disciplines under the supervision of officials from Oche Sports. This edition of "Uflex - Stairs Cricket Scholarship" witnessed participation from around 200 children across Delhi.

Selected children will get a one year scholarship from Stairs which works in the field of empowering youth through sports, education and health. This scholarship is supported by Uflex Ltd., India's largest flexible packaging company.

Apart from the selected children for complete scholarship four more cricketers from Oche Sports were selected for a part scholarship. These children could not qualify on the various criterion of the scholarship but were picked up later for their excellent performance on the ground and missed by very few points.

"Uflex Stairs Cricket Scholarship Camp was started to gift underprivileged children of Delhi the opportunity to showcase their talent and win recognition by exhibiting their sporting talent. It is aimed to bridge the gap of sporting opportunities available to the kids from financially weaker section in relation to kids with financially sound background. The camp stimulates budding talent by exposing lesser fortunate children to sports equipment, logistics and training that they would not otherwise have had the access to. Stairs is planning to organize more such camps all over Delhi in the coming few months. These camps are aimed at providing a platform to the underprivileged children to hone their skills and showcase talent through these camps.

Some of the students who have been identified by Stairs are already doing well at the national level and are earning laurels for their states. Stairs also organizes sports camps at regular intervals to promote youth talent.
