Gulf Air Honors Top Travel Agents of India
Airline hosts network evening for Indiatravel agents
New Delhi, Delhi, India, Thursday, December 06, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain invited over 300 travel agents to an official awards ceremony, honoring the airline's top travel agents and corporates from Northern and Western Indian regions.
The event was aimed at recognizing and thanking trade partners for their loyalty and continued support to Gulf Air while giving them an opportunity to spend an evening in a relaxing environment with other members of the travel trade.
Gulf Air Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Karim Makhlouf thanked the travel agents for their continuous support to Gulf Air business and awarded top travel agents and corporates. From the northern region, M/s Akbar Travels of India won the Most Productive Agent award while M/s Yatra Online received the Most Improved Agent award. M/s FCM Travel Solutions was honoured as the Most Productive Corporate Agent whileDaburCompnay washonoured for being the Most Supportive Corporate Client.
From the western region, M/s Akbar Travels of India won the Most Productive Agent award while M/s Riya Travels and Tours received the Most Improved Agent award. M/s Thomas Cook India Ltd,was honoured as the Most Productive Corporate Agent while Tata Consultancy Services were honoured for being the Most Supportive Corporate Client.
Providing the guests an overview of the Gulf Air's latest products, services and various commercial initiatives Mr. Makhlouf said, "Travel agents are integral to the growth of our airline, as they are responsible for generating substantial business for us. As the key frontline customer facingpersonnel, they make sure passengers receive a positive and comfortable travel experience throughout the entire travel chain - from the very first moment of bookingto completion of their journey. We are taking this opportunity to thank our travel agents and corporates from the Northern and Western regions of India for their continued support and cooperation," he said.
Gulf Air recently developed a series of commercial initiatives tailored to the Indian market. These include the Falcon Corporate Plus Programmefor corporates and SME's, the 'Falcon Flyer' Programme which offers members attractive privileges and value added benefits such as bonus miles up to 250%, guaranteed seats, priority baggage handling, half miles redemption and family membership, and 'Family First' - competitively priced packages for travelling families, offering special privileges both on the ground and in the air. Gulf Air has also just seen its Falcon Gold Bahrain Airport Lounge reopen following extensive refurbishment and the introduction of flatbed seats on some of its aircraft. In a world first, Gulf Air introduced a state-of-the-art entertainment and connectivity system on board in 2011 allowing passengers to browse the web at broadband speeds and access social media services such as Facebook and Twitter while onboard while communicating through mobile phones. In addition, business travelers can access their virtual private network (VPN) to send and receive emails while watching live news and stock market updates at 35,000 feet.
