NMDC Sponsors Mid-Day Meal for 8000 Children in Bellary District


Bellary, Karnataka, India, Monday, November 26, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- NMDC has been regularly contributing towards various developmental and other social upliftment works in partnership with Government of Karnataka.

On November 23, 2012 NMDC Ltd has presented a cheque of Rs.26.32 Lakhs as first of the two installments to Mr. Vinay N Kumar, General Manager - Operations, Tornagallu & Mr. Chetan D, Manager - Operations, of The Akshaya Patra Foundation. The cheque was presented by Shri S.K.Verma, General Manager (Mines),NMDC Ltd, Donimali Iron Ore Mines. The contribution is towards Mid-day meal Scheme run under the aegis of Government of Karnataka by The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Bangalore. The Sponsorship of NMDC Ltd is utilized to feed 8000 children under Mid-day meal scheme covering Government Schools in Sandur Taluk.
