Bhagwan Shree Lakshami Narayan Dham Launches Yamuna Purification Agitation


New Delhi, Delhi, India, Friday, July 06, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- Under the auspices of Lord Shree Lakshami Narayan Dham, the devotees and saints from throughout the country took out a Peace March in support of Yamuna Purification Campaign. This march passed through Janpath Marg crossing, Jantar-Mantar and reached the Prime Minister's Office. A delegation of respectable persons including renowned Bollywood actor Shri Arun Govil, Shri Gajendra Chauhan Bhai, Shri Mandeep Nagpal, Shri Sushil Verma, Shri Visha Raman Nirmal handed over a memorandum to the Honourable President and Prime Minister.

A spokesperson told that the saints' fraternity and devotees took out a peace march in the morning and called upon the Government of India to free the Yamuna from pollution. The participants of the Peace March were angry with the apathy of the State and the Central Governments towards purification of the Yamuna. The devotees displayed their anger through placards in their hands. The demonstrators warned that if the government does not show seriousness towards purification of Yamuna, known as the driver of Indian Perpetual Culture, lacs of devotees will take to the streets.

Addressing the Peace March, Shri Arun Govil said that, "It is very unfortunate and a matter of concern that despite declaration of Yamuna Action Plan by the Central and the State Governments, the water of Yamuna is not potable even today. Industrial affluent and sewerage water is flowing into the Yamuna unabated." He said that if the Yamuna is not saved, the foundation of Indian perpetual culture and spirituality will vanish.

Shri Sushil Verma, spokesperson of the Lord Shree Lakshami Narayan Dham said that, "Lacs of people of the country have vowed for purification of the Yamuna under the leadership of Reverend Brahmarshi Shree Kumar Swamiji." He also said that a memorandum has been submitted to the Central Government through the President and the Prime Minister. If the government fails to ensure complete purification of the Yamuna within a stipulated period of time, the Dham will announce its next strategy and agitation. Appealing to the Government of India to save the Yamuna, Shree Sushil Verma said that the coming generation will not pardon us if the Yamuna is not saved. The Government has been given the deadline till 1st March 2013, after which the agitation will be intensified and Delhi will come to a standstill.
