Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, Thursday, February 02, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is the first Indian Energy University recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and the first of its kind pan Asia. It is the first to be accredited by the Energy Institute, UK. It is the pioneer in imparting education in 47 specialized programs across India's core lifeline sectors like Oil & Gas, Power, Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics and Supply Chain sectors, UPES is the 1st institution to set up an in-house Bio-Diesel Laboratory.

The UPES campus is a sprawling 30 acres land situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, Pondha Valley. The institution produces ready to employ managers by providing a comprehensive training.
