Plans to introduce more Construction Equipment, made-in India to international standards

Bangalore, Karnataka, India, Wednesday, November 09, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- LeeBoy India Construction Equipment (P) Limited (LeeBoy India) today announced its foray into the Indian sub-continent with the launch of the first ever Motor Grader - the 785i - engineered and manufactured in India to international standards.
LeeBoy India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Technologies (ST) Kinetics, the land systems arm of ST Engineering (rated AAA by Moody's and Standard & Poor's), an integrated engineering group providing solutions and services in aerospace, electronics, land systems and marine sectors. The brand LeeBoy comes from VT LeeBoy Inc. (LeeBoy USA), a renowned road construction equipment company in the US for nearly five decades. LeeBoy USA is 100% owned by ST Engineering through its US holding company, VT Systems Inc.

The 785i Motor Grader is a 12.4 tonne, 150 horsepower proven workhorse, designed to consistently level, rip, spread, cut and contour a variety of roads and other surfaces to exacting specifications. It brings greater value compared to its international peers by providing as a standard, advanced features like a fully automatic power shift transmission; ROPS (roll-over protection safety), FOPS (falling object protection safety) and air conditioned cabin for complete safety and higher operational efficiency. It also offers improved fuel economy due to its variable volume load sensing hydraulic system, lock-up clutch on torque convertor and electro-hydraulic fan drive.

Coinciding with the launch of the 785i Motor Grader, LeeBoy India has also introduced its innovative "Operation-Repairs-Maintenance (ORM)" initiative in India. The ORM proposition is aimed at reducing customer's pain areas by taking complete responsibility of the equipment's uptime and performance, through the equipment life cycle. This unique ORM initiative is a first in India and is backed by a team of LeeBoy India professionals with deep work and functional insights in the road construction and construction equipment space.

LeeBoy India has complete access to technologies and products from LeeBoy USA, which is renowned for its quality, depth and width of innovative designs, providing customers with value for nearly five decades.

The establishment of LeeBoy India is part of ST Kinetics' strategy to grow its construction equipment business globally and become a more significant player in the road construction and maintenance, excavation and mining equipment segments.

In the next six to eight months, LeeBoy India would introduce a slew of construction equipment in the Indian market as part of its horizon-1 offerings. These include, amongst others, a 15-tonne Motor Grader, a 22-tonne Crawler Excavator, a Backhoe Loader and a range of Asphalt and Concrete Batching Plants.
Thereafter, its horizon-2 offerings would include a set of road construction and maintenance products from LeeBoy USA's stables such as Pavers, Curbers and Pot-hole Patchers, in addition to the 14-tonne and 33-tonne Crawler Excavators.
