Wrangler announces its "True Wanderer"
Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, Saturday, October 22, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- After a week long dream ride, Wrangler's top ten True Wanderers have successfully completed the journey filled with mean paths and terrains across India. But the journey did not end there. Praveen Selvam from Chennai was announced as the Winner of Wrangler's search for the True wanderer and was gifted the brand new 678 cc super bike Hyosung ST7 on 22nd October 2011 during an event held at the Express Avenue mall, Chennai. The event was graced by the biker, MTV VJ turned actor, Ranvijay Singh who handed over the bike keys to the winner.
A panel of biking experts from xBHP declared the winner based on the quality of content generated and the experiences shared by Praveen on his blog as well as number of votes he got on his blog. Wrangler believes that, on his 7 day long journey Praveen certainly had a lot of interesting stories to tell through his experiences, blogs and amazing pictures updated on www.truewanderers.com , hence undoubtedly is the perfect True wanderer.
Praveen is an ardent biker. For the software professional, what started as a personal diary of memorable travels became a public blog and eventually encouraged him to ride all over India. He is a photographer too and is known to blog his experiences in beautiful colors. His zeal for adventure and road trip passion certainly caught the jury's eye.
Short listed by an online poll and validated by a panel of biking experts, 10 finalists were offered a ride of their lifetime by Wrangler. Each of the True Wanderers selected from thousands of entries received, were flagged off from a Wrangler store in their city and went on a week-long journey starting June first week. Praveen from Chennai, was one of the 10 short listed finalists to take on this biking challenge. Each rider was given one pair of Wrangler jeans, fuel, food, stay and a week to complete an exciting journey filled with new biking trails and unheard places. All riders were expected to wear the one pair of denim throughout their 7 day bike ride and share their experiences with the denim. Each rider created his blog on www.truewanderers.com and updated daily during his ride with photos, videos and blogs about the day's events and uploaded his road trip experiences.
