C-DAC and DIT to Host Conference on 'New Horizons in IDNs with Special Reference to gTLDs'


New Delhi, Delhi, India, Monday, July 04, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and the Department of Information Technology (DIT), with support from VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), will host a conference to discuss the new opportunities in Internationalised Domain Names (IDNs). The conference is aimed to educate the key stakeholders on the concept of new gTLDs (generic Top-Level Domains), IDNs, and the new gTLD application process, timelines and financial implications. The invitation-only event will be held on Wednesday, July 6th 2011 at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.

The event will be attended by important dignitaries including IT secretaries of all states, Mayors of major cities, Government of India officials, DIT officials and societies, C-DAC officials, key industry leaders and associations, registrars, language bodies, linguists, MHA representatives (Central and State), among others.
