Lucivid Launches Luci-MP, a Low-Cost High-Definition Video Conference Solution


Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- Lucivid Software Systems Pvt. Ltd. launches Luci-MP, a low cost high-definition(HD) video conference solution. Priced at Rs. 60,000 per unit, it is about 5 times less expensive than competing video conference solutions in the market. Luci-MP supports 10-way video conferencing without the need for any additional hardware. It provides high-definition video on a 1 mbps broadband internet line.

A Luci-MP end point includes a high definition camera, a speaker-phone and a remote controller. It can be connected to a TV/Monitor/LCD projector, and needs a broadband internet line. It takes about five minutes to set up and is easy to use.

Launching the product, Dr. Srinivas Mandavilli, CEO of Lucivid software systems, said, "We aim to provide affordable video conference solutions to small and medium businesses (SMBs). There are over 35 million SMBs in the country. The usage of video conference solutions in these enterprises is still very low as capital costs for setting up video conference facilities have been very high. With the launch of Luci-MP, most SMBs can afford to have a video conference facility in all their locations. For example, the total setup cost for connecting four locations would be around Rs. 2.5 lakhs using Luci-MP solutions. The running costs would be about Rs. 1000 a month for each location."
