Innotribe Mumbai will explore the ways in which mobile technology is enabling greater financial inclusion - an especially hot topic in India, where 'banking the unbanked' is a national priority. Throughout the event, participants will learn about the latest state of play with mobile financial services for the unbanked. Not your typical conference, Innotribe Mumbai will stimulate new ideas via deep-dive debates about the key issues and challenges we face in this area.
Peter Vander Auwera, Innovation Leader, SWIFT, says: "The probable impact of mobile financial services should not be underestimated. Some 1 billion people worldwide have access to traditional banking services. But there are more than 5 billion mobile users across the globe. So mobile is clearly key to reaching the unbanked. But what do we have to do to unleash the power of mobile banking to enable financial inclusion?"
From which industries will the main drivers of this revolution come - banking, telecoms, others? What innovative solutions will be required to make this happen? Do we have the tools we need already, or do we have to invent new ones to do the job properly? Do we even have a clear enough understanding of the needs of the unbanked to effectively meet their needs? These and other questions will be at the heart of discussions at Innotribe Mumbai - Mobile Payments: Connecting the unbanked. If mobile payments are on your agenda, then you need to be there.
