Riester's newly developed IPC (Integrated PowerConverter) within the e-scope® uses state-of-the-art technology, efficiently converting the voltage of conventional size AA alkaline batteries into the optimum voltage supply needed, whiter light with reduced reflection for colour-neutral illumination that facilitates an accurate diagnosis. LEDs last up to 6000 times longer than xenon illumination and the alkaline batteries need to be disposed of and replaced less often. The long LED lifetime, over 20 000 hours minimum, means e-scope® pocket instruments are low maintenance and environmentally friendly.

German engineered and manufactured, Riester's e-scope® pocket instruments are made of strong materials and suitable for both physicians and students alike. Made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic with exchangeable heads, the instruments can be easily switched on and off using the slide-switch on the handle. In addition, e-scope® otoscope specula are compatible with Riester's ri-mini®, pen-scope®, ri-scope® L1 and L2 and other reputable otoscope manufacturers. With a metal clip for secure attachment, the lightness and precision of the e-scope makes it a handy companion, not only during rounds and house calls, but also in daily use.

e-scope® otoscopes and ophthalmoscopes are also available with conventional, standard halogen and xenon illumination.
