Indian Innovator in US list of "Top 25 Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers"

Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, Monday, February 28, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- Mr. Sai Kumar Rachuri, the Chief Information Office of Ohio Office of Budget and Management, a native of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh who hails from the family of reputed and renowned South India's Biggest retail store chain KALAMANDIR, wins the rare distinction by being named as one of the "Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers" from Government Technology Magazine.

The Innovative Back Office Design developed by him brought the honor by listing the name in the "Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers". He is the only Indian to be featured in the list this year and the nation is proud of him.

This rare distinction is given each year by Government Technology Magazine to the Top 25 people in the United States Public Sector Service, who have conquered barriers to innovate and reshape government operations in the public sector for the better.

Mr. Sai Kumar Rachuri has won the credit for his unique and groundbreaking design of the Ohio Shared Services Center's technology backbone. The design ensures that employees work on thin clients and voice over Internet protocol telephony; data goes to the on-site, dedicated server room. State employees send their invoices to the center through a statewide PeopleSoft ERP implementation called the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System.

The IT was made flexible so that the state could quickly add or subtract services as needed, but it's robust enough that the state could potentially use the infrastructure someday for other shared service "Verticals" such as technology or procurement.

Handled individually. Each invoice used to cost the state $33, Mr. Sai Kumar Rachuri said "Ohio Shared Services has lowered that to $12 and hopes to get down to $6".
