Indian Companies take centre-stage in ArabPlast 2011
Over 100 leading firms from the country have confirmed their participation in the largest trade exhibition in the Middle East for rubber, plastics and petrochemicals being held in Dubai
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- The tenth Arab International Plastics and Rubber Industry Trade Show and Conference, or ArabPlast 2011, the Middle East's leading trade expo for rubber, plastics and petrochemicals, has announced a record participation from Indian companies in the upcoming event. Over 100 Indian companies have confirmed their participation in this global event for plastics and rubber industry. The record participation is an endorsement of the country's booming petrochemical and plastics industry and its influence in global trade.
The ArabPlast 2011 will be held from January 8 - 11, 2011 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Dubai. The official sponsors of the event include Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), Borouge, Abu Dhabi Polymers Park, Petro Rabigh and NATPET.
The 2011 edition of the event is actively supported by the All India Plastics Manufacturers' Association (AIPMA) and Indian government bodies,, The Plastics Export Promotion Council (Plexconcil) and EEPC India.
ArabPlast 2011 is being jointly organized by Al Fajer Information and Services, Dubai, a leading organizer of fairs and exhibitions in the Middle East, and German exhibition organizer Messe DusselDorf, Germany.
The ArabPlast Summit, to be run concurrently with the exhibition, will discuss key challenges facing the growth of the raw plastics and petrochemicals in the GCC region. The All India Plastics Manufactures Association is organizing a conference titled 'India - Global Hub of Plastics', which will focus on the emerging opportunities in the country in the plastics sector.
The ArabPlast 2011 will witness record participation. Over 800 firms from across the world will occupy over 45,000 square metre of space in the four-day show. About 600 companies participated in the 2009 edition of the event.

The plastics exports industry in India, which stands as one of the largest in the world today, indicates a phenomenal growth of 9.9 per cent in 2009-2010 having achieved exports of USD 3.68 billion, according to the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
Apart from India, companies from Taiwan, USA, Turkey, Egypt, Canada, UK, Germany, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, China, Switzerland, Spain, Norway, KSA, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, UAE, and Iran are participating in the show.
On display at ArabPlast 2011 will be new products and technologies in injection moulding, blow molding, wrapping and packaging, pre and post plastic processing techniques as well as raw materials, such as masterbatches, additives and polymers. The show will also showcase latest technologies and track market trends of the Middle East plastics and rubber industry, which continues to be the world's largest exporter, offloading the majority of its output to international markets.
