Arup Gupta to Join Birlasoft as CEO


Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, Wednesday, July 08, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- Birlasoft (India) Ltd, the IT services arm of the $ 1.7-billion C K Birla Group, has announced the appointment of Mr. Arup Gupta as the Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

He will take over his new assignment on August 1, 2009.

A seasoned IT professional, Mr. Gupta brings with him over 30 years of experience. He has most recently been the President & Executive Director of Polaris and was responsible for all operations, delivery and sales. Prior to Polaris, Mr. Gupta had been with TCS since 1979 and was President, North America, in his last assignment there. He was credited with a five-fold growth in a five-year time span in the US.
