ICICI Bank in association with The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized the “Premier Round Table” in Surat at the Taj Gateway for the SME Sector. More than 50 CEO/MDs from companies such as Magicrete, Auro University, Colourtrex, Euro India, Rajhans Nutriments, Surat Metallics, Sunrise Glass Industries, etc. attended the session.
The “Premier Round Table” is an initiative by ICICI Bank for providing a Beyond Banking experience to SMEs. As a part of the series ICICI Bank has partnered with the global consulting firm Breakthrough Management Group International (BMGI), for sharing their cutting edge business transformation framework for rapid and profitable growth of SMEs.

In this Surat session, sixth in the series, BMGI presented their perspective on “How to drive organic growth using Innovation as a platform”. Mr Ambarish Raj, Business Head at BMGI, discussed the challenges faced by the SME in managing the current. He stressed that there is a need to invest in the future and Innovation can help achieve growth goals using scarce resources and by managing current constraints. He presented a simple yet powerful roadmap on how he SME companies can innovate. He gave examples of several companies, which have fallen by wayside since they did not innovate in time. He also shared success stories and case studies of successful innovations – across industry verticals. He furthered discussed a structured innovation framework which could enable the SMEs to adopt innovation.

Mr. Ninad Palnitkar, Chief Manager - Treasury from ICICI Bank presented the overall business scenario – Indian and Global and also provided some financial solutions that could benefit the SME.
Various business leaders who attended the session shared the session was extremely informative and they would now start working towards incorporating structured Innovation in their companies to further fuel profitable growth. Mr Sourabh Bansal, Co-Founder Magicrete shared his viewpoints on disruptive innovation and also explained his journey to start a company that built bricks from fly ash for use in construction. Seven years back when he started his company they were one of the early adopters and today several competitors have come up. He stressed that it is important to keep on innovating and getting into newer products to ensure that business keeps growing and one continues to enjoy market leadership.
