Ernst & Young, a global leader in professional services, announces the opening of nominations for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 Program. In its 14th year in India, the program, aims to 'honor the engineers of growth'- the most exceptional entrepreneurs, who are laying the foundation of a new tomorrow with their vision, diligence and ingenuity. These also include entrepreneurs based in tier II & tier III cities, presenting them an opportunity to mark their presence on the national stage.

An eminent jury comprising country's most eminent business leaders will select the finalists and winners, across various categories, including a National Entrepreneur Of The Year. Award. Category awards in the past have included Start-Up, Manufacturing, Life Sciences & Healthcare , Consumer Products, Services, Lifetime Achievement, Manager and Business Transformation. Finalists and winners will be honored at a gala awards banquet at Mumbai in February 2013.

Reflecting the unique global nature of the program, the National Entrepreneur Of The Year represents India at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year held in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Nominations are open till 31 July and both owners and managers can apply, subject to them being primarily responsible for the recent performance of a company. Apart from self-nominations, an entrepreneur may also be nominated by anyone else associated with the individual. The award judges the nominees on financial success, entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, strategic thinking, personal integrity and influence.
