Smartphone app 'Ken' will now Help decrease Stress Levels
New Delhi, Delhi, India and New York, United States, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- Neha Shah, a designer with Frog Design and The New School University today announced the launch of the beta phase of Ken- a smart phone app.
Ken-which means knowledge and understanding- is a user-friendly stress tracking-and-fighting app concept. Smart phones are often known to contribute to everyday stress as a person is connected 24/7. But Ken is designed to work with everyday technology to bring down stress. The app works as a form of persuasive technology that is designed to influence people to engage in small but healthy activities that, over time, can positively influence in bringing down stress levels and breaking unhealthy patterns.
With this app, users are able to track their stress levels over a period of time after completing a very brief survey of their attitudes and any major life changes. By using the customizable daily reminders to perform stress-decreasing activities and by listening to meditative podcasts, users then would be able to see their stress levels decrease.
"As something of a workaholic myself, I know how hard it is to make time to improve yourself-finding time to go the gym or to eat healthy-so I decided to find a way to help people make minor changes easily," said Neha Shah, designer of the app. "There is no instant way of dealing with everyday stress but Ken helps to facilitate ways to manage stress in the long term," she added.
Designer Neha Shah currently works with Frog Design and The New School University working on user-centered design and designing communication pieces. Neha has over 5 years of experience working in communication design field working at ISO, Sapient Corporation and NetProphets Cyberworks. She holds an M.F.A. in Design and Technology from Parsons, The New School for Design in New York and a B.F.A. in Applied Art from the College of Art, New Delhi.
