Grand Kerala Shopping Festival Launches Online Diwali Video Greetings


Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, Wednesday, October 19, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- In an ambitious move to reach out to northern parts of the country, the South Indian Bank Grand Kerala Shopping Festival will send online Diwali video greetingsto three lakh persons all over the country. The greetings programme is expected to further popularise the annual shopping festival which is drawing more and more national and international travellers to God's own Country. The Diwali greetings programme was inaugurated by Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Government of Kerala, in Thiruvananthapuram the other day.Mr. T. K. Manoj Kumar IAS, Secretary, Kerala Tourism, Ms. Rani George IAS, Director, Kerala Tourism, Dr. Rathan Kelkar IAS, Shopping Festival Director and Addl. Director, Tourism, Mr. G. Nandakumar, Asst. General Manager, South Indian Bank attended the function.

Besides viewing a special video capturing the jolly mood of the festival, the receivers can also customise it and send to their friends and relatives, said a spokes person of the South Indian Bank Grand Kerala Shopping Festival. The video greetings will have a 'viral effect' in the online world which would be an easy way to reach out to lakhs around the world in a short span of time. This is being done in association withwww.indiavideo.org, a video portal on India. The facility will be available till 26 October 2011.

The fifth edition of South Indian Bank Grand Kerala Shopping Festival will be held from 1 December 2011 to 15 January 2012. A Government of Kerala initiative, Shopping Festival made its debut in the year 2007. The festival coincides with two special occasions of international relevance-Christmas and New Year. Organised by the Department of Tourism in association with the departments of Industries & Commerce, Finance and Local Self-Government, the festival has helped the state to transform into an international shopping hub.
