Mindteck, a global technology company listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE 517344), has provided targeted funding to enhance the state-of-the-art computer lab run by Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. The lab is part of the newly-constructed block of Samarthanam Trust recently inaugurated in the presence of the Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Thawar Chand Gehlot, and Union Chemicals and Fertilizer Minister, Ananth Kumar, who praised the efforts of the Trust in empowering ‘differently-abled’ citizens in the state.
Mindteck’s funding of “Dialer Software”, which will be used via JAWS (Job Access with Speech) software, will help blind and visually impaired users to read screens either by text-to-speech output or by a refreshable braille display. It will enable Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled to employ over 40 visually challenged individuals.
WE CARE is Mindteck’s framework for honoring its commitments and making a lasting difference for communities, shareholders, clients, partners and employees around the globe. The pillars of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives are global education and targeted, local giving. Learning and inclusiveness are the cornerstones of its commitment to championing others and stewarding meaningful causes.
Mr. Yusuf Lanewala, Mindteck’s Chairman and Managing Director, commented, “Samarthanam, under the leadership of Mahantesh, has done commendable work toward creating an inclusive society. We are very proud to be a part of this important initiative that develops employability skills.”
Mr. Mahantesh, Founder and Managing Trustee of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, commented, “We are happy to be associated with Mindteck and thank them for the support extended toward our efforts in creating an inclusive society—by empowering persons with disabilities through accessible technology.”
