element14 Launches Education Programme for Engineers and Engineering Students in India
Online course kicks off with webinar on the Analog Devices Discovery Kit, an affordable and personal lab, available together with supplementary reference designs and software tools

Bangalore, Karnataka, India, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- element14, has launched its education programme in India with the first co-partnered programme with Analog Devices, the global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal-processing applications. Hosted on the element14 Community, this webinar on the Analog Devices Discovery Kit, a portable and personal circuit design lab, will be held on 27 March at 10.30am (5.00am GMT). It is presented by Kaushal Jha, a Senior Engineering Manager at Analog Devices India who is a specialist in mixed signal design.

Date for webinar : 27th March 2013, Wednesday
Time for webinar : 10:30 AM IST (Indian Standard Time)
To attend the webinar: http://www.element14.com/community/events/3623

The webinar will demonstrate a live example how you can design a circuit and test it simply with the Discovery Kit and your PC. Ideal for engineering designers, students and hobbyists, this session explores the kit's utility and functionality and how it aids as an ideal support system in design and experimentations without requiring a sophisticated lab set-up. This multi-tasking kit replaces the oscilloscope, waveform generators, power supplies and network analyzers.

"Some programmes on element14 Community such as webinars, Roadtests, 'Ask an Expert' and legislation are highly popular with our India engineers. Their feedback was that training sessions were organised suited to American or European time zones. As such, together with Analog Devices, we are delighted to present this inaugural webinar in India, conducted by a technical expert so that participants can benefit from a real live demo and discussions at a time convenient within their work day," said Ravi Pagar, Regional Director - element14 Asia Pacific.

Participants of the webinar will also have easy access to online and downloadable software and teaching materials, circuit simulation tools, online support, textbooks, reference designs and lab projects to design and implement analog circuits. This allows more flexibility to experiment with real circuits through direct hands-on experience. Together with a multitude of supplementary materials such as reference designs, online textbooks and software tools, users will be able to explore, design, build and test real-world real-time circuits. Somshubhro (Som) Pal Choudhury, Managing Director, Analog Devices India said, ""Our partnership with element14, is a step towards building a competent workforce that can support the needs of both our growing customer base designing systems and as well as the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry. The theoretical versus real-world skills gap is a challenge for budding engineers especially in India." He added, "We launched our University Program early this year with a Portable and Affordable Personal Lab for the engineers to run experiments and get hands-on experience, anywhere and anytime, without the need for any expensive lab equipment. The program is also aimed at revolutionizing the way engineering students learn and experiment with analog circuit design, outside of a traditional and expensive lab setting."
